Department of Cardio Thoracic Surgery

The department is run by a number of well qualified and techinically proficient Cardio Vascular surgeons. The results of the procedures (Adult and Congenital) have been of international standards.

This department is well equipped with one of the most modern Cardiac surgery operation theatre with facilities for Endoscopic Vein Harvesting, awake CABG etc. and state of the art Post Operative ICU. The surgical procedures performed by this team are,

Adult Cardiac Surgery :  Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery(CABG, Beating Heart Surgery, Valve Repair and Valve replacement surgery, thoracic surgery, Aortic Aneurysm Surgery

Pediatric Cardiac Surgery :  Acyanotic Congenital Heart Diseases (ASD VSD and PDA), Cyanotic Congenital Heart Diseases (TOF, TGA, DORV, TAPVC etc) and other complex congenital diseases.

Thoracic and Vascular Surgery : Thoracic Aorta Aneurysm surgery, Aortoiliac, Iliofemoral, Femorofemoral Bypass surgery, Embolectomy etc.

Thoracic surgery has been started from May 2009 under the guidance of Dr. Mohan Verghese who was the head of the department of Cardio Thoracic Surgery and Principal of Christian Medical College Ludhiana. We have the latest Ventilators, heart Lung Machine and advanced hemodynamic monitoring systems, with state of the art intensive care management including IABP (intra Aortic Balloon Pump).
